Labour is warning that working families will end up paying the price of desperate Tory promises.
A new audit of spending and tax commitments in the Conservative Party manifesto shows the Tories want to spend an additional £25 billion a year which they have not explained how they will pay for.
This is the equivalent of £1,439 a year for every working household in Britain.
This is the choice the Tories have made. And their track record reveals who will pay the price. Since 2010 they have hit working people hard - putting up VAT and cutting tax credits – while millionaires have been given a tax break. They have done it before. They will do it again.
In contrast, every commitment in Labour’s manifesto is fully funded with no additional borrowing.
