Michael Jones has been Bewbush's Borough Councillor for four years and wants your support to continue fighting for the neighbourhood.
A qualified solicitor, he has also been a Parliamentary Assistant for the former MP for Crawley, Laura Moffatt, and the former Labour Cabinet Minister, John Denham MP.
Michael has been campaigning constantly for Bewbush residents since being elected as your councillor.
Michael led the fight to stop Crawley Borough Council from agreeing to identify the Bewbush West and Skelmersdale Walk playing fields for housing, and supported Bewbush residents in their campaign to stop this.
Recent campaigns Michael has been involved in locally have included successfully fighting to keep the vast majority of Bewbush's play areas open for local children, and for greater investment in them, in opposition to Tory plans to close them.
Michael also helped lead the campaign to stop the Tories locally privatising Tilgate Park, and successfully called on Crawley Borough Council to sign up to the Community Covenant scheme, to support serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families in Crawley.
Michael has been strong supporter of strengthening the requirement for council housing to people in Crawley with a local connection of at least five years so local people get a fairer deal, and challenged the Tories recently for setting a less strict requirement. If elected again, Michael will push the council to make this change for Crawley people.
