Working people across England are worse off under this Tory-led Government. Wages are down £1,600, and people are waiting longer in A&E and to see a GP.
But there is nothing new in the Tories' English manifesto. The Tories still have a less ambitious agenda for English devolution than Labour.
Labour’s plan includes the most radical package of English devolution for 100 years. We will pass an English Devolution Act and transfer £30bn and new powers back to England’s cities and counties in all areas of the country to boost economic growth in every part of the country. This is more radical than the Tories, because it covers all areas of England, not just ad hoc agreements with a few cities.
Only Labour can truly claim to be the party of the union, and only a Labour Government will be in a position to deliver the change we need for the whole UK.
